How do I defrag my Hard Drive in Windows 2000/XP?

Click START/PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/SYSTEM TOOLS/DISK DEFRAGMENTER.


Click DEFRAGMENT.
Your computer will be usable, but noticeably slower while this is running.  You can start this process any time your computer is not actively being used.  You should do this every few months.  You can also select ANALYZE and the program will tell you if it thinks you need to bother.  Unfortunately in this included version there is no way to schedule the task.
